I’m having a half-day at work on the 30th of December. I currently work in West London! Could you recommend a bar to go to? – George, 25, via Twitter.
My suggestion: Purl London (50-54 Blandford St, Marylebone, London W1U 7HX)
One of the best cocktail bars in London, Purl London stands out thanks to its impeccable atmosphere!
Purl London does a fantastic job of transporting you to a 1920s prohibition USA.
With excellent cocktail masterclasses (which are super interactive and you’ll be able to master 3 cocktails), a huge assortment of cocktails (their Cerez Joker is to die for), Purl London could be the perfect spot for you to hit up with either your friends or colleagues. Just try not to be a bluenose.*
*Bluenose: A slang word from the 1920s for a prude or individual deemed to be a killjoy.
Going out for dinner with my boyfriend on New Year’s, but would love to go out dancing! Do you know any last minute places we could go to in East London? – Joel, 24, via Facebook.
My suggestion: Dream Sequence Free NYE House Party @ White Post Cafe
(Schwartz Wharf, Buliding 4, 92 White Post Lane, London E9 5EN)
When it comes to last minute events, Joel, I’m your man! So how does a party after your dinner sound like? You might not know everyone there, but White Post Cafe will make you feel right at home with their free event “Dream Sequence NYE House Party”.
As it’s a free event, all you’ll have to do is just walk up to the venue and be let in.
The event will be packed with several DJs that will be playing several different styles of music such as deep house, disco, 80s, party tunes and electronica. So if you want to dance to such things as “Stayin Alive” or “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” then this is the venue for you. The event will be from 18:00-04:00, so if you’re in the mood for a late night, grab some friends and just go bananas. Start 2017 with a house party, am I right?
Question 3: Could you please, please, please, recommend somewhere in London where I could take my girlfriend on a date? – Ellie, 21, via Facebook.
I’ve got a place for you, but it all depends…. do you like ice skating?
My suggestion: Tower of London Ice Rink (St Katharine’s & Wapping, London EC3N 4AB)
Even if you’re not the best ice skater, Tower of London’s Ice Rink is an awesome venue to take your date. The view, the cozy/historic atmosphere (you are right next to the Tower of London) and the actual ice skating itself makes the Tower of London Ice Rink the perfect place to have a memorable date. Just try not to fall on your ass!*
