Celebrate (Or Commiserate) the Inauguration at these Bars

It’s pretty scary that the United States just handed over the nuclear codes to Donald Trump, who’s most famous words are “You’re fired”. Not to fear, you can still have a pint before the world goes under!

The Maple Leaf (41 Maiden Ln, WC2E 7LJ)

A huge chunk of the United States are trying to become Canadian ever since Trump won. If you want to emulate some of your favourite celebrities who wanted to emigrate such as Bryan Cranston, Samuel L. Jackson or Cher, now is your chance as the Maple Leaf is the perfect place to experience what Canada is aboot.

Mestizo (103 Hampstead Road, NW1 3EL)

Trump once famously said “We have no country if we have no border”. I say, there’s no fiesta if we don’t have Mexican culture. So instead of building a wall, how about building a bridge with some #badhombres at Mestizo. Drink your sorrow away at this fantastic tequila bar and enjoy some fine Mexican cuisine at this smart and modern restaurant.

Shoreditch Grind (213 Old St, London EC1V 9NR)

While Trump has been getting a lot of flak for his ties to Vladimir Putin, the Shoreditch Grind has been proudly flaunting their connections to the Motherland. Not only is their award-winning “Hot Flat White Russian” a ‘UGE hit, it is also fairly unlikely to commit acts of espionage.

Far Rockaway (97-113 Curtain Rd, EC2A 3BS)

If you’re feeling brave, then stay and fight on home-soil by visiting Far Rockaway in Shoreditch. March and protest with your fellow “New Yorkers” and enjoy some of the best street food and art New York has to offer.

Hutong (The Shard, 31 St Thomas St, SE1 9RY)

Donald Trump blames China for everything. Lack of American jobs? China’s fault. Global warming? China’s fault. Stubbed toe? China’s fault.
If you don’t blame China for everything, then Hutong is a stellar option for you to check out. Hutong is an upscale bar decorated with Chinese lanterns, silk curtains and it has a fantastic view of London.
